Who We Are

The Fishing

This Company is special in a few ways others aren't. It is designed to benefit the community as a whole. Castings fishing center will be a place for anglers of all levels and ages to become better at the "catch" part of fishing while giving seniors and disabled family a safe and accessible place to fish all year around. Using todays technology and over 100 years of experience from Pro Anglers from all over the world, Castings fishing center will be the #1 Fishing Center in America. This family oriented fishing center will be full service and handicap accessible. This Center will have indoor accessible ponds stocked with bass for catch and release fishing all year around. Also we will have Biology classes, Lure training classes, Professionally taught demonstrations by the Pros, and equipment training classes.

This Company is particularly important to me because I believe we need it in our community. This will be a place where grandparents can learn and bond with their grandchildren.  A place for a single mother to take her son fishing for an hour after work.  A simple accessible outing for a kids birthday party or a good place to take grandpa who thought his fishing life was over because of the wheelchair. Fishing is a bonding time between us and nature. I think everyone deserves to be able to catch a fish no matter how old or what your disability is. Castings is about fun and better future fishing trips and family time.

Our Mission is to help everyone learn the great versatile art of fishing in a safe and structured environment. While at the same time give people who are physically challenged or mentally disabled the opportunity to get the thrill of the catch.

Aquaponics

Aquaponics is a form of hydroponics system, where plants and fish co-exist together. The fish provide the nutrients for the plants, while the plants filter and purify the water for the fish. This mutual dependency creates a mutually beneficial symbiotic environment that helps both the fish and plants thrive.

  1. Closed Loop System: Aquaponics is remarkably self-sustaining due to the nature of its closed loop system. the water is constantly recirculated and filtered between the fish tanks and the grow beds, allowing it to sustain itself without needing to replenish water or add new nutrients.

  2. Saves Resources: The system also reduces or eliminates the need for additional water, nutrients and pesticides. This cuts down on the amount of resources needed to grow, saving money, water and time.

  3. Cost-Efficient: There is no need for expensive complex hydroponic systems, meaning that aquaponics is a much more cost- efficient form of agriculture.

  4. Sustainable: Since this system is incredibly efficient, it is considered an inherently sustainable solution for growing both fish and plants.

  5. Environmentally Friendly: Aquaponics is completely organic, not introducing any artificial chemicals or pesticides into the environment.

  6. Maximize Usage Space: On top of all that, aquaponics makes efficient use of vertical space, allowing farmers to maximize usage space and produce more in less area.

Overall, aquaponics is an efficient, sustainable and cost-effective way of agriculture. It is an environmentally friendly solution that reduces resource consumption and maximizes production in minimal space. With aquaponics, anyone can create a self-sustaining ecosystem in the confines of their own backyard. Here at Castings we want to not only grow the best organic food a faster more effective way, we want to teach our community how to do the same thing!

“If you Give a man a fish you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish you feed him for a lifetime.”

We Want to help our community feed itself for a lifetime. Growing food in our community is not only an essential part of sustaining a healthy lifestyle, but it is also vital to strengthening the bonds that makes us a community. By implementing a closed-loop aquaponics farm to the Dekalb county landscape, we can ensure that everyone in the county has access to fresh, healthy, and sustainable produce all year long--something which can be life saving for all.
